# Creating a template

{% embed url="<https://www.loom.com/share/738e4bcdf0134e5bb21a6b780b6ff5c6>" %}

To create a contract agreement, start by navigating to the **Settings** section of your Loopit dashboard. Under **Template** settings, you’ll find the **Contract Templates** section. Here's a step-by-step guide:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Access the Contract Template Section:**

Go to **Settings** > **Templates** > **Contract Templates**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Create a New Template:**

Click on **Create New Template**. For this example, name the template something recognizable like **Subscription Agreement** or **Default Subscription Agreement**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Choose a Predefined Template or Start from Scratch:**

* **Predefined Template**: You can opt to use Loopit’s default contract template, which includes a pre-formatted cover page with merge fields. This is recommended if you're getting started quickly or don’t require a fully custom agreement.
* **Blank Template**: Alternatively, you can disable the predefined option and start from scratch if you have specific requirements that Loopit’s default doesn’t cover.
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
**Editing the Agreement**

* Contracts can span multiple pages. To add a new page, simply select **Insert** > **Page**. This creates a blank page where you can begin adding your customized content.
* Use the **Components** section to drag in a **Text Box** for adding detailed terms and conditions, clauses, and any other important contractual information specific to your business.
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.loopit.co/settings/contract-templates/creating-a-template.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
